VLI Diesel, is currently looking to employ an Advanced Mechanical Tradespersons to join the team at Beresfield, NSW.

This role will involve repairing, overhauling and assembly of new and used equipment.

To be considered for this role you will:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Possess a strong commitment to WH&S in the workplace
  • Have a Trade certificate in Mechanical Fitting, dual trade in Boiler-making desired.
  • Hold a current Forklift License (Desired)
  • Hold a current Drivers License
  • Be certified for Code D overhauls with Current RIISS00030 Skill Set (Desired)
  • Demonstrate previous experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, diagnostics and repair
  • Experience with the manufacture and repair of plant and heavy underground mining equipment
  • Have the ability to work well in and foster and effective team environment
  • Demonstrate effective planning and organizations skills
  • Posses strong communication skills
  • Demonstrate reliability and punctuality
  • Display a professional approach when dealing with customers, clients and colleagues
  • Be compliant with all company and site policies and procedures
  • Willingness to participate in a pre-placement or site access medical (including on-going drug & alcohol testing)

This is a Full Time position is based in the Beresfield workshop. Standard working hours are 7.6 per day, Monday-Friday.

Remuneration for this position will be as per the VLI Beresfield (NSW) Union Enterprise Agreement 2020.

Conveyor Technicians / Rubber Liners / Belt Splicers

Specialist Materials Handling and Mining services business operating in the resources industry for more than 30 years currently seeking Conveyor Technicians, Belt Splicers and Rubber Liners to join the team at Kalgoorlie.

The roles will be responsible for the safe and timely completion of service based activities including conveyor inspections, repairs, overhauls, service/installation of conveyor belt cleaning components, roller and skirt change-outs. The roles operate within a 24/7 breakdown industry with frequent travel to our customers sites, weekend and night shift’s as required.

 

To be considered for this role you will:

  • Possess a strong commitment to WH&S in the workplace.
  • Hold a valid Australian A or C class driver license (HR license desirable).
  • Have the ability to work unsupervised independently as well as part of a larger team.
  • Have a willingness to participate in a pre-placement medical (including on-going drug & alcohol testing).
  • Hold a valid (or willing to obtain) a National Police Clearance.

Advantageous Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in mine site based conveyor maintenance that may include, belt splicing, belt scraper and impact bed maintenance and installations, roller & skirt change-outs, chute and tank lining in rubber and ceramics or a willingness to learn in these areas not currently experienced in.
  • Mechanical Trade qualifications
  • Other desirable tickets: Forklift License, Confined Space, EWP, Working at Heights, Dogman or Riggers.

Rubber Technician

Due to recent growth VLI Conveyors, Welshpool is actively seeking new rubber liners to join our growing team. With over 30 years’ experience and one of the largest Autoclaves in WA now is the time to join the team at VLI.

As a rubber lining technician you would be responsible for ensuring the efficient, effective and safe lining of interior and exterior tanks, valves, pipes, pulleys and similar articles. Here at VLI we value safety and culture, a successful candidate will have both the skills required as well as the right attitude for success.

The Main responsibilities of this role include: (But are not limited to)

  • Preparation of steelworks for application of rubber lining
  • Prepare, cut rubber, and safe use of hazardous chemicals
  • Safe and effective application of rubber
  • Safe supervised operation of one of WA’s largest Autoclaves
  • Ensure all rubber lining practices and staff are safe and that work is completed in a safe and timely manner

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a rubber / ceramic lining and knowledge of rubber products
  • Willingness to learn from the team and the ability to provide input to our existing processes
  • Attention to detail and a positive “Can Do” attitude as well as focus on Health and Safety
  • Current and valid Driver’s License
  • Additional tickets such as; confined space, working at heights, dogging and rigging, forklift ticket or operation of overhead crane are desirable but not essential

This role will involve timely completion of any repair, overhaul or assembly of new and used underground mining equipment to a high standard including the completion of all relevant documentation.

Sales and Operations Manager

VLI Conveyors are looking for a highly motivated individual to fill a senior role as our Kalgoorlie Sales & Operations Manager, reporting directly to the Conveyors Divisional Manager.

To succeed in this role you will have a passion for developing high performing teams as well as having a hands on approach and a can do attitude. You will be responsible for managing the business by driving cost effective operations and building strong relationships with customers to meet and exceed their expectations. This role will tend to all of the financial, sales and operational responsibilities for the Conveyors Kalgoorlie branch.

Core functions of the role will include:

  • Ensuring communication and compliance with all VLI company policies and procedures.
  • Leading operations and driving continuous improvement in all areas of the business including sales, supply chain and distribution.
  • Quality Assurance including management and maintenance of system, audits and records.
  • Engagement with corporate procurement team to ensure best service, quality and price for raw materials.
  • Partnering with Finance to deliver business forecasts, budgets and profitability reports, weekly dashboards, CAPEX/OPEX plans and reviews, financial performance to budget.

To be considered you should have:

  • Prior experience in a Sales or Marketing role within mining or a related industry.
  • Financial / Budget preparation and management experience.
  • An Engineering or Mechanical trade background. (desirable)
  • Understanding of manufacturing concepts and processes.
  • Knowledge of Conveyor Products and Services.
  • Sound knowledge of the Western Australia regional areas.
  • Strong attention to detail & effective time management to meet deadlines.
  • Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office), SAP. (Desirable)

Operations Coordinator

Due to an increase in work a brand new position within VLI Conveyors is currently available. VLI is seeking an experienced Operations Coordinator to manage the supply chain and support the service team at it’s buzzing Kalgoorlie branch.

The Operations Coordinator will be the first point of contact at Kalgoorlie Branch, procuring materials and resources, maintaining SAP systems and processes on a daily basis and continuous improvement of the Kalgoorlie branch practices.

To be successful in this role you will a have a drive to meet operational goals on budget and on time. You will have a hands on approach with a can do attitude, while being highly motivated with a passion to succeed.

To be considered for this role you will:

  • Understand supply chain operations, warehousing and logistics.
  • Have knowledge of Conveyor Products and Services and understanding of the manufacturing process.
  • Be able to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, customers and vendors.
  • Have intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office), SAP experience. (Desirable)
  • Be familiar with WHS and Operational reporting functions within a similar position.
